Coincidence...or Something Else?

Over the past few days, I've found myself thinking about the upcoming solar eclipse. Like everyone, I find myself wondering what it might have to teach me.

When an eclipse occurs, we instinctively stop what we're doing and look up. For a few moments, the ordinary becomes extraordinary. The light shifts. The atmosphere changes. Our perspective is interrupted. We are invited to notice something we might otherwise overlook.

When I first sat down to write this newsletter, I thought the eclipse itself would be my inspiration. But nothing came. I stared at the screen, waiting for the right words. Nothing I wrote resonated. The eclipse inspiration simply wasn't there.

So, I did what I often do when life asks me to stop trying so hard...I set the task aside and decided to allow inspiration to show up on its own rather than trying to force it.

Yesterday morning during my sunrise walk along the beach, the download arrived. Without effort... without searching... a wave of inspiration came pouring in. It wasn't about the eclipse at all. It was about the idea of a coincidence. Or perhaps, what we so casually call "coincidence."

Throughout my life I've experienced many remarkable moments that were so perfectly timed and interconnected that they made me pause and ask, "That can’t be just a coincidence, huh?"

A little over a week ago I had a challenging interaction with my amazing husband and I allowed my frustration to take over my day. Instead of meeting us both with compassion, I let anger show up, except I didn’t properly express it. I held it in. Moments later I injured a rib or two and was in excruciating pain for over 5 days. During that time, I was forced to look at the unprocessed emotions in my life that are causing damage to me.

I am a person that is focused on breathwork. Ribs expand with every breath. If someone is holding frustration, which I was at the time, breathing can become shallow and painful with a rib injury. Energetically, this can reflect holding back emotions, suppressing tears or "holding it all together."

I was doing all of that.

A rib injury can naturally limit deep breathing, which sometimes invites a person to become much more conscious of every breath they take. I also realized that a rib injury isn’t simply pointing to what needs to be released (anger and frustration in my case). It can also be pointing toward the next version of ourselves that needs more room to breathe. For me...a more tolerable, compassionate aspect of myself.

Was my rib injury an accident? Was it a coincidence that as a breath facilitator I might unconsciously create a rib Injury as a perfect teacher?

The more I reflected on It, the more I realized that almost everyone has stories like this.

Maybe you've had experiences like that too, like waking up to a flat tire when you’ve been feeling that your life is going nowhere, or positive experiences like running into exactly the right person at exactly the right moment, thinking of someone just before they call, or receiving the answer to a question in the most unexpected way. Were those simply coincidences? Perhaps.

Or perhaps they were something far more meaningful.

What if coincidences are evidence that we are participating in the creation of our lives far more than we've ever imagined?

Over the years, I've come to believe that our lives are woven together by countless unseen threads. Most of the time we're moving too quickly to notice them. But every now and then, something happens that interrupts our ordinary way of seeing, and suddenly we recognize a connection that had been there all along.

In many ways, that's what a solar eclipse reminds me of.

An eclipse doesn't create something new. It simply reveals a perspective we don't normally experience. For a brief moment, we're invited to look up, pay attention, and witness something extraordinary that was always part of the greater dance of life.

I wonder if meaningful coincidences, positive or negative, do the very same thing. Maybe they are life's little eclipses. Moments that gently interrupt our routine and whisper, "Pay attention. There is more happening here than you realize."

One of the greatest lessons I've learned through my work in the Akashic Realm, through Awareness Mapping™, breathwork, and energy healing is that awareness changes everything. Not because awareness magically creates a new reality in that instant, but because awareness reveals possibilities, connections, and opportunities that we simply couldn't see before.

How many miracles pass us by because we're distracted? How many answers arrive while we're busy looking somewhere else? How many doors quietly open, waiting for us to notice them?

Whether you call these moments coincidence, synchronicity, divine timing, or simply life's remarkable interconnectedness, they have become some of my greatest teachers. They remind me that we are far more connected to life than we often realize.

We are not merely observers of our lives—we are active participants in them. Every choice, every thought, every conversation, every act of courage sends ripples into a much larger field of possibility.

Perhaps we are all far more brilliant at creating our lives than we've ever given ourselves credit for. maybe life has been speaking to us all along.

As summer begins to draw to a close and we prepare for a new season, I invite you to become a little more curious. Slow down just enough to notice. Pay attention to the conversations that unexpectedly appear, the opportunities that seem to arrive out of nowhere, the ideas that visit you when you stop forcing and start listening. You may discover that what once looked like coincidence has quietly been guiding you all along.

And speaking of new possibilities, I felt inspired to celebrate the remainder of August by offering several special opportunities for our beautiful community.

If one of them speaks to you...well...perhaps that isn't a coincidence either.

With love and many blessings,

Lily
