"Whole & Complete." What exactly does that mean?
It's been 28 years since I first came across this expression but it's been in my heart ever since. I chuckle when I think of the line in Jerry Maguire where he says to Dorothy, "You complete me." I couldn't believe so many people bought into that line, it seemed like such a crock to me because I had just learned, through the breakup of my first marriage, that only I could complete myself. And that it was for the very reason of me thinking a husband could complete me that the marriage most likely failed. I learned through the pain of my divorce that to experience myself as whole and complete, exactly as I am and exactly as I am not, and with exactly what I have and with exactly what I have not...is a HUGE key to knowing myself as free and alive.
